Now you can purchase both Kindle 3 models at a discounted price. Choose the Kindle 3G + wifi with special offers, or the Kindle wifi with special offers to save $25-$50 on the cost of America’s favorite ebook reader.
Both offer exactly the same performance and functionality as their full price equivalents. But for a discount Kindle, you have sponsored ads and special offers in place of screen-savers when you are not reading.
The new Kindle with Special Offers allows buyers to choose an ad supported and thus cheap Kindle 3 ebook reader. Initially only the Kindle 3 wi-fi version was available. But due to the product zooming to Amazon’s No1 best seller spot, they have quickly introduced the Kindle 3G + wi-fi as an ad supported discount model too. You have some special offers and ads placed as screen-savers and pay a little less for the device.
Now whichever reader you were after you might be happy to take advantage of a $25-$50 price reduction offset by a few ads.
Cheap Kindle – Ad Supported
The move is continuing to show Amazon’s innovative approach to their popular hardware. Subsidise the purchase price and customers keep coming back for more content. It makes sense, and whilst some will baulk at advertisements being shown on a personal device, many more consumers will no doubt be happy to turn a blind eye.
Kindle With Special Offers
Initially one might be a little sceptical about yet more ads bombarding us. But it appears these will be pretty unobtrusive, showing up as screensavers and at the bottom of the homescreen display. That’s not so bad, particularly when you see that along with ads Amazon will also be sending special offers to Kindles too.
In the first few weeks Kindle customers will be able to take advantage of a few money saving deals sent to their devices, including:
- $10 for $20 Amazon.com Gift Card
- $6 for 6 Audible Books (normally $68)
- $1 for an album in the Amazon MP3 Store (choose from over 1 million albums)
- $10 for $30 of products in the Amazon Denim Shop or Amazon Swim Shop
- Free $100 Amazon.com Gift Card when you get an Amazon Rewards Visa Card (normally $30)
- Buy one of 30 Kindle bestsellers with your Visa card and get $10 Amazon.com credit
- 50% off Roku Streaming Player (normally $99)
This won’t suit everyone of course. But if you are as ad blind as I, or happy to have the opportunity to be selected for some pretty good deals and of course want a discounted Kindle reader, then the initial $25 cost reduction might be just the thing to buy you your first ebook reader.
Surely the $99 Kindle cannot be far away.
