Now you can download audio books directly to your Kindle Reader or Kindle app.  Until now. to get audio books onto your Kindle, you had to first download to your computer and then transfer them via the USB cable.  Now it wasn’t that  difficult, but it was a bit of a chore, and hardly something you could do out and about.  Put short it simply was not really what the wireless ebook reader is really all about.

Of course you can always use the text to speech feature for books that allow the facility.  But the robotic voice is understandably a turn off for many of us.

If you want to enjoy audio books, properly, read by real humans, you may now do so easily by using the wi-fi connectivity and the Audible site (an Amazon company) to buy and download audio books immediately.  What’s more, just to get the ball rolling Audible are offering a one month free trial so you can download 2 free audio books directly to your Kindle, or App immediately.

To enjoy your free trial, simply use your Amazon log in information to join the AudibleListener® Gold membership plan and get listening to your favorite actors, authors and famous voices reading your bed-time stories!

Don’t forget to cancel your membership if you don’t want to start paying the very reasonable $14.95 monthly membership once your free trial is up.

  1. Hi, what do you get once you have used your trial, for your $14.95 per month? Patti

    • Hi Patti, the Audiobooks membership gives you one “credit” which usually equates to one audio book, plus special offers and members only discounts on other audio books. You can cancel at any time.

  2. Hello, I’m looking to purchase a Kindle for my children to help with reading comprehension. Once you download the audiobook for the human voice, is this also downloading the actual book for them to read along? Thank you.
